T E C Industrial Participates in New Facility Ribbon Cutting

Sep 21, 2021

As General Contractor, T E C Industrial was pleased to participate recently at our client’s opening ceremony for their newly constructed Versatile Automated Gamma Assay System (VAGAS) building in Erwin, TN. The custom-designed 2,400 square foot structure replaces an 18-year-old system with a permanent and more robust facility. The VAGAS building will house Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) equipment used for performing nuclear measurements on waste containers.. The building was designed with safety in mind including one-way vehicle traffic, designated control room, and a carbon monoxide detection system.

Construction of the VAGAS building started in January of 2019. NDA equipment installation was completed during the first quarter of 2020. The facility was completed with no injuries, on schedule, and within budget.
