TECI’s Tim Mendiola Competes in the 2026 ABC National Craft Championships

Mar 24, 2026

Devon Billington and Tim Mendiola recently travelled to Salt Lake City to represent TEC Industrial at the ABC (Associated Builders & Contractors) Convention 2026. The convention was held from March 18-20 and featured several award recognitions, a construction management competition, and the 2026 National Craft Championships.

Tim represented TEC Industrial in the Structural Welding category of the National Craft Championships. He was selected to compete because of his strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, and drive to continually improve his craft. Tim currently holds both a D1.1 Structural SMAW qualification and a D1.1 Structural GTAW qualification.

Devon Billington, QA/QC Inspector and TECI’s In-house Welding Program Instructor, said this about the experience, “Attending the 2026 ABC craft competition was a fantastic experience. We met a lot of great people from all over the country. Companies from up north, as far as New Hampshire, came all the way to Salt Lake City to compete. I hope next year even more of our craft personnel will want to compete and take the opportunity to go.”
