TECI Supports Hawkins County CTE Programs

May 13, 2026

Kenneth Miller (Director of Construction) and Heath Seal (Chief Estimator) represented TEC Industrial as guest speakers at Volunteer High School for its Welding and Industrial Maintenance programs. They shared insights into career paths within the construction industry, the skills employers are seeking, and the range of local job opportunities available throughout the region.

In addition to this visit, TEC Industrial has partnered with the Hawkins County Career & Technical Education (CTE) program to help ensure students are aware of career opportunities in the construction industry. Through this collaboration, TECI is working to enhance and refine the CTE curriculum to better align with the skills and competencies required in today’s workforce. Kenneth Miller and Heath Seal will also serve on the Hawkins County CTE Board of Advisors, providing ongoing industry insight, support, and guidance.

Ken Miller stated, “It was a great opportunity to spend the day with the CTE students at Volunteer High School. It may not seem like it, but 20 years ago, we were sitting in those same seats. We were ready to take the next step, but uncertain about the path ahead. If TECI can play even a small role in helping guide that path, we are proud to do so. It is something we owe to our community and to these students as they prepare to become the future of our industry.”

Heath Seal added, “Taking the next step after high school is one of the moments that quietly shapes the rest of your life. It’s the point where you stop imagining your future and actually start building it. The construction field is a strong, reliable career path, and TEC Industrial offers great benefits and real opportunities to grow, as it has for me over the past 19 years. It’s a smart place to begin a career that pays well, teaches valuable skills, and gives you long‑term stability.”

TEC Industrial appreciates the opportunity to engage with students and support programs that connect classroom learning to real-world careers. We look forward to continued collaboration with Volunteer High School and Hawkins County and are proud to support the next generation of skilled trades professionals by providing the knowledge, training, and hands-on experience needed to develop future leaders in the construction industry.
